Oh no! My Facebook has been Hacked…now what?

I am sure you are all seeing the recent craze with people posting links to your page.  Well I am sorry to tell you they are not reaching out to communicate with you.  Unfortunately, their Facebook account has been hacked.  Or maybe you are a victim of these predititory hackers.  I am so sorry if you are.  The question remains…now what?

In the first scenario we suggest texting or emailing your friend to let them know their account has been hacked.

If you received one of these posts on your wall:

Do NOT watch the video or click on the link. This is what opens up your account to spam. Take your mouse and hover over the topright part of the post, and hit MARK AS SPAM. This will remove the post from your wall.

In the second scenario, you’ve been hacked.

- Go to your Account. (Top right hand corner of any Facebook page.)

- Choose Privacy Settings

- Choose Apps and Websites (click the Edit your settings link in lower left)

- Choose Apps you use (click Remove unwanted or spammy apps)

- Then click Edit Settings next to the app to see what it has assess to do.

- If you are still concerned, you can also change your Facebook password. While it’s not likely part of this problem, it’s a good practice to change it on a regular basis.
