What is your Unique Selling Proposition?

M&M's ~ "Melt in Your Mouth, Not in Your Hand"
For starters, let me address what is a “Unique Selling Proposition”. A USP is a simple statement of why clients should choose to do business with you rather than one of your competitors.
It will benefit your business greatly to develop your USP and to use it throughout your marketing. It will become the cornerstone of your branding and the more you zero in and focus on your USP the stronger your brand will be.
Examples of USP:
- Domino’s Pizza: “You get fresh, hot pizza delivered to your door in 30 minutes or less — or it’s free.”
- FedEx: “When your package absolutely, positively has to get there overnight”
- M&M’s: “The milk chocolate melts in your mouth, not in your hand”
- Wonder Bread: “Wonder Bread Helps Build Strong Bodies 12 Ways”
Here are some steps that can help you discover your Unique Selling Proposition:
- I am a/an ……………………. (How do you define yourself?)
- Who provides ……………… (List of key services and benefits.)
- To……………………………. (Define your target audience.)
- Who desire ………………… (Particular needs/pains)
- Unlike …………. Or……….. (Define your competition)
- I am much better/more unique/different than my competition because I offer….. ( How are you different?)
We would love to know your USP. Leave a comment here or email us directly.
